PARIS - SPRING 2018

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Paris blogpost 🇫🇷🥖🌹 How are you doing? Hope you have been doing great! The weather has been warming up here in Europe and the days are finally becoming longer (which makes me incredibly happy 😁)

Johnathan and I just got back from our little weekend getaway in Paris. We flew there on Friday night from Amsterdam and just returned back home on Sunday night. We mainly stayed in the area around the Eiffel Tower (which was enough to keep us busy for two days) but we are already looking forward to exploring other areas of Paris in future trips!

We arrived Paris on Friday night at around 7pm. We took an Uber from Charles de Gaulle Airport to our first airbnb, which was located a few streets next to the Eiffel Tower! We arrived at the apartment around 8:45pm, unpacked a few things and then the Eiffel Tower started to sparkle! ✨✨✨ Right in front of our little balcony!! It was so beautiful and definitely the most magical welcome I could've ever imagined to Paris.

That night we ate dinner at Washington Poste . The restaurant was really close to the Arc de Triomphe, so after dinner we couldn't resist to take a midnight stroll on the Champs-Élysées and check out the Arc de Triomphe at night. We picked up some (overpriced) yoghurt on our way home at some midnight supermarket on the Champs-Élysées for our breakfast the next morning.

On Saturday morning we woke up with the most surreal view of the Eiffel Tower - from our bed! I just opened my eyes and boom- there it was! Johnathan and I were constantly checking weather forecasts the entire two weeks before our trip and it said constant rain the entire weekend (this was the forecast even up until Friday night!). But when we woke up all we saw was SUN! ☀ And CLEAR BLUE SKIES!  I was so happy and thought this was too good to be true, but lucky for us it ended up being beautiful weather throughout this entire weekend!

We had some breakfast while enjoying the view on our balcony and then got ready to explore the city.

On our way to breakfast we decided to take a little walk around the area and check out the view of the Eiffel Tower from a different perspective.

We had breakfast at Kozy. It was very cute and kozy 😏 Johnathan had pancakes with fresh fruit and I had a grilled cheese sandwich! 🥞 After this we headed back to our airbnb, packed up and got ready to move to our next airbnb!

We had actually planned to spend our entire Saturday in and around the Louvre, but on our way there we decided to take a metro for the first time and actually got one of our polaroid camera's stolen ☹️😤 they had opened Johnathan's camera bag and grabbed whatever was at the top, which happened to be our Fuji Instax mini. It was the first 'polaroid' camera we ever got 5 years ago, so it kinda put us in a bad mood for the rest of the afternoon. After a while we realised that it could have been way worse or that they could've stolen anything else, so we just decided to enjoy the rest of our trip and continue our trip just as we had been before ☺ We didn't end up going to the Louvre anymore (or taking the metro 😅), but we just walked around the area and got an early dinner at a Chinese restaurant close to our airbnb.

On Sunday morning we walked around the area and went to one of the prettiest streets with one of the most stunning views of the Eiffel Tower 😍  Since it was our last day in Paris I was determined to find crêpes - and we did!! I had a crêpe with nutella and a scoop of vanilla ice cream (yes this was at 9:30am...), Johnathan had one with nutella and banana and then we also got 2 croissants (one chocolate and one regular), some fresh orange juice and 2 cappuccino's. Yes we totally went all out "since it was our laast daaay in Paaaris" 🤷🏻‍♀️😬 right?

For our last meal in Paris I really wanted to try out a spot I found out about through Song of Style's blog! It's a restaurant called Pink Mamma 🌸 This place is HUGE and every inch of this restaurant (inside and out!) it super cute, filled with little nicknacks and the warmest staff. We were seated at a bar where you could look into the kitchen. They were playing Italian music and all the cooks were singing along 👨🏻‍🍳, the food smelled (and looked and tasted) insanely yummy 🤤, there were plants hanging from the ceilings 🌿 and all the plates and cups were beautifully painted. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the mood for Italian food and a great time 🍕🍝🍷!

After this we took an Uber back to Charles de Gaulle Airport and got on our flight back to Amsterdam! ✈ Our little weekend getaway flewww by and we would love to visit again soon to explore other area's of Paris! Despite getting our camera stolen, this was the perfect little trip for us 🌹
